With the seasons changing in the world and in our personal lives, transitional periods can be overwhelming. When you are overwhelmed there is a need of relief and guidance. Lately the Lord has been teaching me to lean on Him for the relief, guidance, and refill that I need.

We can reference the scripture Psalms 91:2. Which simply tells us that “the Lord is our refuge and our fortress, our God in Him we will trust.”. What does it mean to be a refuge and a fortress? A refuge is a shelter from trouble or danger. While a fortress is a person or thing not susceptible to outside influence or disturbance.

God promises that He will never leave nor forsake us. He will not be swayed by the problems in our lives nor will He be moved. God calls us to come to Him for shelter for He is our place of protection from all harm and danger. As our place of refuge, God will equip us with the tools and necessities for our next adventures.

This week I challenge you to let God be your place of refuge in your time of sorrow, frustration, and lack. Invite Him into those places and watch how God moves in the midst!
