A Campfire Favorite Turned Domestic
This recipe is for you if you are in the mood for a quick, warm, gooey, chocolatey, traditional snack. I was in the mood for smores, so I hopped in the kitchen and here we are!
Whether sumin sweet for yourself or a cute party treat this recipe can be whipped up in less than 5 minutes. This recipe was created to be simple and quick. Utilizing what ingredients you have available in the pantry!
Recipe Directions
Turn oven on broil
Take a baking sheet and tear a piece of aluminum or parchment paper matching the size of the baking sheet and place it in pan (it’s okay if it overlaps, from one perfectionist to another)
Take a whole graham cracker and snap in half (one for the bottom one for the top) and place 2 inches apart in a pan.
Add chocolate chips, enough to fill the graham cracker half. Or add 2 pieces of a Hershey bar.
On the empty gramcracker it’s time to add your marshmallow. Either one marshmallow or a handful of mini marshmallows. (DO NOT OVERCROWD UNLESS YOU ARE OKAY WITH A MESSY SANDWICH)
Now place the baking sheet in the oven. On the second row. (if you are impatient you can put it on the rack closest to the broiler.)
For the impatient folks you have thirty seconds to monitor your smore halves or your marshmallow will be burnt to a crisp unless you like them a little crunchy crunch like moi.
If you decide to place it on the second rack, leave smores in the oven for 2 minutes or less (enough to make the marshmallow gooey).
After the time is up, remove the baking pan from the oven and set it to the side for cooling. Turn off the oven. Let cool for 1 min.
Time to assemble. Combine halves and BOOM your personal smore’s! *If you need to use a spatula to help pick up the halves to combine you are more than welcome. Using your hands is okay too just be mindful of temperature.
